Over my 4 day winter staycation the head gaskets in my car went out. So I have a few options
- Pay $2200 to have a shop replace them
- Replace them myself (again, finding someone to mill the heads)
- Put a used engine in it
- Roll the loan balance into a new loan and get a new car
At this point I am leaning towards the used engine, and getting rid of it after tax time. I really don’t want to end up paying way more for a car than I should for option 4 anymore. Option 1 is just to damned expensive and option 2 has the chance of a mistake or picking a bad machine shop 🙁
